Soap Box Derby

It’s true, I do

Pontificate

While out to lunch

Or on a date

I spew forth conjecture

Spouting a lecture

Something to say

Night and day

Repugnant or relevant

I feel intelligent

Or, perhaps self-indulgent

None-the-less

It’s true, I do

Pontificate

Soliloquies rule

My one-sided debate

It matters not my audience

A bevy of scholars, or one so… dense

Swirling mental cavalcades

Inspires verbal escapades!

To keep my opinions

Stored on a shelf

Would only disappoint myself

I don’t think first

Nor bite my tongue

Speak up speak out

My spring unsprung

“Talk is cheap” ?

You fail to see

How it pays

Dividends to me

If you toss a pebble into my pond

Be prepared! I WILL respond!
